The learning areas we cover, how they connect, and how we track progress.
Our curriculum is built to meet Philippine basic-education requirements for each level. How we teach it is where the progressive approach shows.
Subjects are taught as distinct learning areas so nothing is lost, but they are deliberately connected through projects — a Science investigation becomes a piece of writing, a Mathematics problem, and a presentation.
Learning areas
What we teach
Language and Literacy
English and Filipino: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Explicit phonics in the early years, extended writing later.
Mathematics
Number, measurement, geometry, and data. Concrete materials first, pictures next, symbols last — at every level, not just the early ones.
Science
Taught as investigation. Children predict, test, record, and revise rather than copying results they already know.
Araling Panlipunan
Self, family, community, country. Built around asking children what they notice about the world they already live in.
Values and Character
Explicit teaching of honesty, kindness, and responsibility, reinforced in class meetings and everyday practice.
Arts, Music, and Physical Education
Timetabled every week at every level. Not the first thing cut when the calendar tightens.
Assessment
How we know a child is learning
The exact assessment schedule, reporting periods, and grading bands are still to be confirmed by the school.
Daily observation
Teachers record what children can do as they do it. This is the assessment that actually changes next week's teaching.
Work samples
Each child's folder of work across the year shows progress far better than a single score does.
Periodic assessments
Formal assessments each grading period, used to confirm what teachers have observed and to flag anything missed.
Parent conferences
Scheduled conversations each grading period where you see the work, not just the grade.
