Message from the Directress

Thank you for looking at our school. If you are reading this, you are probably trying to picture your child somewhere — in a room, with a teacher, on an ordinary Wednesday.

Here is what I hope you would see. A child who is talked with rather than talked at. A teacher who knows that child's name, their handwriting, and what makes them go quiet. Work on the walls that the children actually made, mistakes and all.

Progressive education is sometimes described as loose or unstructured. In practice it asks more of teachers, not less: more preparation, closer observation, and the patience to let a child arrive at an idea rather than handing it over.
